The founder of Alo Bhubon Trust and Bangladeshi physician and physicist Professor Dr. Golam Abu Zakaria received the highest civilian award in Germany. He is the pride of our Bangladesh. Alo Bhubon Trust is very happy with this achievement.
On Friday (March 22) evening, Viel’s Landert (District Administrator) Jochen Hagot presented the certificate of honor to Professor Golam Abu Zakaria at the Burghaus Bielstein building in Viel, Germany. He also presented Professor Zakaria with the ‘Federal Cross of Merit’ on behalf of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Mayor Ulrich Stuecker, Counselor (Politics) of Bangladesh Embassy in Germany Tanveer Kabir, Professors of various universities in Germany, academics and local dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
The medical physicist who won Germany’s highest civilian honor spoke to Deutsche Welle. Golam Zakaria said, “In my professional life, I have worked a lot in Germany and Bangladesh. I never thought that I will get this honor.“
