Building Expertise in Cutting-Edge Cancer Care Technologies

Alongside prevention, Alo Bhubon Trust (Alo BT) is strongly committed to improving cancer treatment and care in South Asia, including Bangladesh. Recognizing the growing burden of cancer and the shortage of specialized professionals, the Trust works to strengthen both healthcare facilities and the human resources needed for effective treatment.

Through its flagship initiative, the South Asia Centre for Medical Physics and Cancer Research (SCMPCR), Alo BT provides advanced training for doctors, nurses, radiotherapists, and medical physicists. This initiative equips healthcare professionals with modern knowledge of cancer diagnostics, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and palliative care. By building local expertise, the Trust ensures that patients can access high-quality treatment within Bangladesh rather than seeking expensive options abroad.

To achieve this, SCMPCR regularly organizes Hands-on Workshops, E-learning Programs, and In-service Training. These programs bring together international and local experts to share the latest advancements in cancer care, while giving participants practical skills that can be applied directly in clinical settings. Through continuous professional development, SCMPCR is creating a pool of highly skilled manpower capable of delivering safe, effective, and affordable cancer treatment across the country.
