On 22 June 2026, Rahima Baniz Healthcare Centre (RBHC), a sister organization of Alo Bhubon Trust, in collaboration with BRAC, successfully organized a VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) Screening Program at Balubhara Community Clinic, Balubhara Union, Badalgachhi Upazila, Naogaon, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The program was organized by the Rotary Club of Durbotara and GOSB ( Gynae Oncological Society of Bangladesh) with the support of RBHC and BRAC. The initiative was conducted to promote awareness of cervical cancer prevention and ensure early detection through community-based screening services.
A total of 115 women participated in the VIA screening activity and received health education, counseling, and screening services from trained healthcare professionals. A qualified Gynecologist was present throughout the program and provided consultations and examinations to the patients as required. Among the screened participants, 4 women were identified as VIA Positive and 2 women were found CBE Positive, resulting in a total of 6 participants with abnormal findings requiring further evaluation and follow-up care. All positive cases received counseling and were referred to appropriate healthcare facilities for further diagnosis and management.
The program was implemented with the active support of BRAC, which played a vital role in mobilizing its beneficiaries and encouraging community participation. On behalf of Alo Bhubon Trust, all staff members of Rahima Baniz Healthcare Centre (RBHC) worked diligently to provide quality healthcare services and ensure the successful implementation of the activity. The collaboration among Rotary Club of Dhruva Tara, GOSB, BRAC, Alo Bhubon Trust, Rahima Baniz Healthcare Centre (RBHC), healthcare professionals, and community members significantly contributed to increasing awareness of cervical cancer prevention and improving access to essential women’s health services in the locality.
